Default Path of the Necromancer

I've been reading this forum for builds, and I've found some valuable information that will help me later on in the game, but what I'm looking for is a build that benefits a newish Necromancer. At this point in the game--about to do Frost Gate Mission-- I don't have any of the Elite spells. So as the Necromancer character progresses through the game, what would be considered a good build using the spells available?

To narrow things down, so far I've been a bit of a Minion Master type. I'm a necro/mo and my character is a level 14.

3 Blood
9 Death
9 Soul Reaping
6 Curses
2 unused points

Parasitic Bond
Faintheartedness
Rotting flesh
Mark of Pain
Death Nova
Putrid Explosion
Animate Blood Minions
Resurrect

I usually start out with hitting a target with Rotting Flesh followed by Faintheartedness, especially a large target. As the battle progresses, I begin calling up my Blood Minions. I hit non-fleshy monsters with Parasitic Bond. Death Nova and Putrid Explosion are used as needed.

ANY suggestions, even to tell me this is a horrid build is a-okay as long as you give me some useful suggests that revolved around spells that are available to my level. As much as I'd like higher levels spells, they're beyond my reach at this point.

Thanks!

And ask yourself what do you want to be - MM, curse necro or blood necro. And change resurrection skill, even rez sig is better than Resurrect.

It's "Bone Minions", not "Blood Minions".

Read the sticky?

Definitely read the sticky, it will answer a ton of your questions...
You might want to add a healing spell into your bar, like heal area...so you can heal your minions in between battles and keep them alive longer...

That will be your only way to heal them until you get Blood of the Master.

Someone mentioned 'fix your points'...
That person should have told you why you need to fix your points...afterall, you did say you were new... lol..

You don't want to spread points around, it's better to be awesome at 1 thing than to be mediocre at 3 right?

If you want to go heavy MM, then max your Death Magic, put the rest into Soul Reaping, and remaining into Healing...

If you want to go Curses or Blood, then just dump all your points into that category, leave the same amount in Soul Reaping and the same amount in Healing.

You'll probably never have more than 3 or 4 points in Healing.. I'm level 19, and I have yet to have enough points to raise healing past 3 or 4..well see what happens when I hit level 20..especially since I can't raise my Death Magic any higher (12 points max, plus 4 more from armor and runes).

Anyways, make sure to go read Moloch's sticky:
Sticky: Death Is Our Job - To Create And Play A Necromancer (Multi-page thread 1 2 3)
then come back if you still have questions..

My best advice is not to worry about it.

You can't make a "good" build right now. That's not your fault; that's just the way the game is. Later it will be possible, so worry about it then. For now, use the early missions as a way to develop your basic "nuts and bolts" GW skills -- learn how to control aggro, how to outsmart the AI, how to position yourself on the battlefield (or, if you're an Avarre fan, how to not position yourself on the battlefield), how to kite, how (and, more importantly, when) to retreat, how to prioritize targets, how to focus fire with your team (and when to ignore their target calls), how to manage your energy, etc.
